The CQL workgroup set very ambitious goals designed to improve processes and services for people enrolled in Kalix programs. Every team member has been actively working on one of more sub-groups on each of the initiatives (using the discovery process in planning meetings, goal training and monitoring, POM training and monitoring, staff training initiatives, etc.), meeting regularly to report on progress and implementation. Each initiative is already having an impact, and will continue to strengthen our performance as an agency. Thanks to each team member for committing your time and energy to this project!

Congrats to October's Team Spotlight- Ashleigh, Rhonda, and Mickie for facilitating a volunteer effort at the Hostfest. A fellow volunteer noted that she appreciated the support and encouragement from the team, which made it a great experience!

Congrats to Ashley Flom for receiving September’s Employee Spotlight. When a riding mower quit working down at East Totten Trail (we have a contract to mow and maintain two campgrounds near Lake Sakakawea), Ashley figured out how to get the inoperable mower on to a trailer and to a nearby shop to be serviced, and made it a team project for the work crew. Ashley’s problem-solving and persistence minimized downtime, and the crew was able to get back to work as usual the next day.

Congrats to August’s Employee Spotlight recipients, Megan Buee and Chelsea Nelson. A few months after implementation of the SIS-based payment system in April 2018, we had long lists of discrepancies, missing documents, and outstanding payments. Megan worked with a contact at the Department of Human Services payment office, DDPMs, and RCs to figure out how all the pieces of information work together, how to respond to various error codes, and how to rebill correctly to generate payment. Barb & Kayla assisted a new employee working at a community job to develop ways to do tasks that worked for her. They also worked with the employer to organize and modify the work environment to make job tasks more efficient for all employees!
